The 1936 Mercury Dime is a ten-cent coin that was produced by the United States Mint from 1916 to 1945. The 1936 Silver Dime coin’s obverse (Head) features the portrait of the Roman messenger god Mercury along with the inscription 1936 – LIBERTY – IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse (tail) features a fasces (a bundle of rods with an axe), and the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA  – E PLURIBUS UNO – ONE DIME.

The 1936 Silver Dime can be found in different versions of mintage types:

  • 1936 Silver Dime without a mint mark, was struck at the Philadelphia mint with a total quantity of 87,500,000.
  • 1936 D Silver Dime, was struck at the Denver mint with a total quantity of 16,132,000.
  • 1936 S Silver Dime, was struck at the San Francisco mint with a total quantity of 9,210,000.
